If you have a need to communicate with a Deaf client/ patient/ employee/ student, you need an interpreter or other appropriate accommodation
On site service will send an interpreter to your location
An interpreter on location will circumvent any barriers due to technology glitches

What is this service?
Interpreter joins video/virtual platform
Interpreter facilitates communication between hearing and Deaf
Good quality audio/visual components and high-speed internet is a must!
Everyone gets equal access to information, making for a happy consumer and a successful appointment
Why would you need this service?
If you have a virtual meeting that needs a BSLI interpreter on screen
If an interpreter cannot come on site at your location, an internet connected device equipped with sound and video can connect an interpreter to you
If you tried captioning and it wasn’t effective, a BSLI interpreter could be what you need to provide communication access
Why work with BSLI for this?
BSLI can support adding interpreters to many different platforms – including Zoom, Google Meet.

Real Time Captions
What is this service?
Spoken English is typed by a captionist in real time, captions appear on screen or on a separate streamtext URL
Captionist is off site, access to captions is through a secure internet connection
Why would you need this service?
Individuals needing access may prefer to read what is being said, or aren’t fluent in Sign Language
CART Captioning is the process of turning the spoken word into captioned text – this could be useful for any participants to make sure they don’t miss any spoken information
Automatic captions are improving overtime but still are only 50-90% accurate. A live captionist averages 96% accuracy

What is this service?
Sign Language interpreter and/or captions added on screen to any video project
